Google is selling unlocked Android phone to Android developers. The unlocked phone will be sold for $399.
The unlocked Android Dev Phone, also called gPhone, as compared with the popular iPhone from Apple, will be the first Android-based phone. $399 gPhone will come both SIM-unlocked and hardware-unlocked. Google created Android to compete against other mobile operating systems, including iPhone OS, RIMM, Nokia Symbian, and Microsoft Windows Mobile. The unit will be available in the US, UK, Germany, Japan, India, Canada, France, Taiwan, Spain, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Poland, and Hungary and will work with any GSM carrier.
