At the 2008 MacWorld keynote presentation, Steve Jobs announced the January iPod touch software upgrade, which will cost current iPod Touch owners $19.99. Is this right? Does the software worth the money? Should it be free? How would iPod Touch owners react?
In addition to the current applications, including iTunes, Photo, Video, Music, Contacts, YouTube, Safari, Clock, Calendar, and Calculator, there are five new applications for iPod touch in the latest upgrade. They are: - Mail
 - Maps
- Stocks
- Notes
- Weather
With the new Mail apps, users can now see graphics and photos in email and view PDF and Microsoft Word and Excel attachments. Of course, google maps allows you find out where you are and get directions from there. However, although there are apple fans praise about these great apps, there are people complaining. The reason being: - iPhone and iTV users get free software updates
- New iPod Touch have these apps for free
- There is no choice to select which of the five apps to buy
- There is no prior notification upfront when users buy the iPod touch
Debates are all over major forums, some claim they have got $5 - %10 gift cards by complaining to Apple. Others don't care and just love the apps and enjoy. Of course, there is always the other option: jailbreak it! |
